| Just an update: for those of you that think I'm dead, I'm just updating over on Livejournal instead of here.

| Well... I finally got home. And I finally got this piece of crap laptop working again.
Note to self: do not delete random things off the computer.
So my last day of work was a treat, two chocolate cakes (one at a
meeting, which I happened to fall asleep in). I turned in my
badge, signed out at the locksmith and program security.
On my way home, it was sort of an adventure. When I bought the
ticket for the train, it did tell me there weren't any trains going to
Burbank airport for the next 3 hours, but I bought it anyways. I
thought that the train I had to transfer to would be there. But
apparently after a certain hour, it doesn't operate. So I was
stuck in downtown Burbank. Luckily, a bus driver was able to get
me to Hollywood Way and I walked 15 minutes down to the airport.
Today is checkin for fall training for Cal Band. YAY!!!
| Last Friday was cool. Me and my workmate went beach hopping. We drove as far west as Zuma Beach and as far south as Palos Verdes. In between, we hit up La Tuna, Santa Monica, Venice, Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo and several other beaches. We also got a clear shot of the hollywood sign and took pictures at La Brea tarpits. Then at night, we got wasted and played pool at the cantina and then I drove home.
Otherwise, the rest of the weekend was spent playing Need for Speed and watching movies. I leave for home tomorrow. I'm not sure whether to be excited or not.

I woke up around noon, and I've been on the internet for about 12 hours now.
So
at about 11:30PM, there was some shooting in front of our house.
Apparently there was some stolen truck and the shooter parked it in the
alley behind our house.
My roommate was already having a tough
time today. I think he was either watching tv or sleeping. But he was
woken up around 11PM by our house manager about rent, so he was already
peeed about that. He called his mom to come by to drop off rent
money. Me and another housemate were outside eating some jalapeno
sunflower seeds, while he was outside the fence waiting for his mom.
Then a cop car comes by, not just one but 8 more come by. They start
pointing guns at him and get him all over the place, on the hood, on
the ground. They cuff him and beat him silly, knee on the back of the
neck. Then they take him away cuz they think he's the shooter.
They take him around the block in the back of the car a couple of times and drop him off when his mom comes.
Through the night they took down a couple of names and searched a couple of cars.
These are the same cops that set another roommate's car on fire and let it burn and charged him for arson.
I'm glad I lived here instead of some random apartment. Nothing cool would happen in an apartment.
When
the cops drove off the first time, they left their keys on top of the
car and it fell off. Then they reversed back and went "yea, my head's
probably not on right" That's when we knew our friend was screwed.
Cops suck, their just having fun on the expense of innocent people.
| After work today, we went to Stoney Point in Chatworth for some good
old fashioned rock climbing. I climbed into a harness, grabbed some
uber uncomfortable shoes and tied myself a figure 8 knot.
The
first climb I did was called the Nutcracker. The first part was easy.
After I got on the first ledge, I discovered why it was called the
Nutcracker. At this point there were no handholds and the only way
around was to wrap your leg around the corner and smear you nuts
against the edge. I tried 4 times, falling almost each time, and came
down.
The second climb was a whole lot easier. It was called
Mozart and it was pretty much like an indoor climbing wall. It was
easier because I could actually see all the footholds and handholds.
Now my arms and legs feel like jelly.
